Hey lads,

pretty much anything you need to know is on this page. http://www.cwtsite.com/restore

Thank you!

By the way, Kayz and I are looking for a third mod for CWT 2013. If you're interested contact Kayz or me or write a mail to support@cwtsite.com

CWT forever! :o

Uh, sorry if I was unclear.

1. Download the old website from http://www.cwtsite.com/restore (there's a link at the top right).
2. Extract the Zip file and you should have a new folder "2009".
3. In that folder there's a file named "index.htm" - open that one in a web browser (nowadays' browsers should allow drag and drop).
4. Now you should be on the old website. Click the logo and click "Archive" from the menu at the left.
5. Now you're on a page where there should be years from 2002 to 2008. Each year has a link "Games" - click one.
6. Remember the year of which you've previously clicked the "Games" link of. That's the first info to fill the form on http://www.cwtsite.com/restore with!
7. Now you're on a page with the games played during this year. Pick a game and fill the form with the remaining information. All fields are required, except "Reported" (fill that one as provided).
8. Do that with all the other games from 2002 to 2009*.

* Games of 2009 are not on the archive page. They can be found by clicking on "Games" in the menu at the left. The playoff games of 2009 can be found by clicking on "Standings" in the menu at the left (the playoff tree is at the bottom).
Note: Do not add any games from qualifiers.
Note: People can find weird names for the round of last sixteen. For example, in 2002 it says "eight-quarter finals" and elsewhere it may say "second round". That refers to "Last Sixteen" in the form on http://www.cwtsite.com/restore
Note: In 2007 and 2008 you won't find the playoff games under "Games". They are under "Standings". The group stage games of course still go under "Games".

If you experience any difficulties, just tell me.
I know, that's a tedious work, but that has to be done to get a nice archive for CWT.

Fantastic tool! Why did you do without "Add replay" function?

By the way, Kayz and I are looking for a third mod for CWT 2013.
My last impressions of my admin job was, that Tenori or Kukumber could be adequat head moderators. Maybe you want to ask them

Thanks, Joschi! Replays have already been captured and sorted. I think it was even you who did it. You know, you can download them here http://www.cwtsite.com/tournaments/download/replays :)
Later on I will just assign restored games to the replays.

Also thanks for your suggestion. I got the same opinion about TenoriTaiga and Kukumber and it's probably also Kayz's opinion. We will contact them or maybe they've already read this. ^^

Sadly, replays were not available before the 3.6.19.7 update, which was released on the 9th of February 2004. Therefore, it's not possible to restore games from the 2002 and 2003 tournaments.

It's not about the replays. It's solely about the game... the result, the opponents etc.

Seems like the whole thing about restoring the archive of CWT is a bit misunderstood. I don't know how to put it any better though.

Crespo's Worms Tournament has been having a database since 2010's tournament. So, the games of the tournaments in 2010, 2011 and 2012 have been added to that database. The games before 2010 have never been added to the database. Now that's what we want to catch up on.

For the record, games and standings of CWT have been manually written down to the website by the moderators until I've initially picked up site administration in 2010, hence games before 2010 are in no database.

Also there have been no replays until 2007 because CWT was still on Worms World Party back then.

Oh I will gladly help with CWT administrating as well. Though I can't know what might happen in more than half a year and how it could change my life.

Filled forms for year 2002.
But there were some issues.

1) Last 16: RatoonSoft - Makimura
Score 3-0, filled as it was, might want to change it to 2-0.

2) Last 16: Spike - Bytor
Tech win, I did not fill the form for that game

3) Group D: Feiticeiro - Goro
There is no player with name Goro in tool, I did not fill the form for that game

4) Group H: Crespo - Tajniak
There is no player with name Tajniak in tool, I did not fill the form for that game

5) Group H: Crespo - Wormslayer
There is no player with name Wormslayer in tool, I did not fill the form for that game

It is also worth mentioning, a lot of group games reports are missing, but I guess it is all what's left. :(

1) Good observation, all the other games are best of three. Well, let's stick to 3-0 though, we don't have any other information.

2) Technical wins, uh. I'm never thinking of that. CWT doesn't even support technical wins. Will do something for that.

3), 4), 5) A problem considering nickname changes. It would be stupid to have multiple accounts for one identity. But well, that's many years ago, gotta take that. Will do something for that.

Well, it's questionable whether reports are missing or not. Actually it wasn't uncommon to have some games that were not played. As far as I know 2011 was the first tournament to have all games played.

Thanks for your help, Kukumber.
And about that mod thing, I will talk to Kayz. :)

Yesterday I send you my feedback list via FB. I had kind of the same problems like kukumber. Group stage 2009, 20% of group stage games were technical wins, so yea, there should be a technical win remark.

3), 4), 5) A problem considering nickname changes.
Hm, or they werent on original starter list but on waiting list. Register them, SuperPipo isnt on the list either.

Added functionality for technical wins and missing players.

Edit: Almost 200 games restored, thank you so much Kukumber and Joschi!

That's a great and quick update for the tool!
Year 2003 was fine, except missing group games. Was actually surprised to find out CWT used to start in February. :)

Ah, and one more thing. Zemke, did you take care of games I noted in 2002, or should I report them myself with new tool? And actually what score do I have to set for a tech win (guess it's 2-0 and check the box with TW, still want to make sure I do it correct way)? :)

The most surprising thing I've ever found out about CWT was that it was possible to play different schemes. And before it was changed to Intermediate as it is nowadays, they've even played Intermediate with crates and stuff.

You cannot do it the incorrect way. System takes care of really anything.

I didn't take care of those 2002 games, somebody else needs to do it. Apropos "somebody else", anybody else able to help with restoring the archive of CWT? Many people wanted the archive so badly and now there's only Kukumber and Joschi ready to help with it? If they remain the only ones till the end, I think we'll give them part of 2013's donations. Yay!
